This village along the Maas river, located SW of Nancy, is visited by pilgrims because it is the birthplace of Jeanne d'Arc. Her home, located near a little church (15th century), is still preserved and can be toured for a small fee. 1.5 km south of thevillage a large basilica (1881-1926) was errected on the spot where Jeanne first heard the voices calling her to liberate France.
